The Sunrise Series: A New Beginning

I did this soft (Rembrandt brand) pastel drawing of the sunrise at 630AM.
It is the view out the kitchen window and I was waiting for the coffee water the boil.

I was inspired to do this drawing/painting by David Hockney's iphone "paintings" of the sunrise.

The Invisible City

We were given an assignment in my Intaglio Printmaking class to do a print, or prints, inspired by one of the cities in the book, Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. The class is taught at Lane Community College by Susan Lowdermilk.

These are the studies I came up with, from which I will make aquatint and etching prints on copper plates.
I am almost done etching the one entitled Invisible City II.

I will post photos of the prints and process when I am done.

The prints will be for sale at a reasonable price.
